According to Hadith, when he intended to sleep, he would lay his right hand under his cheek and recite the prayer: “اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ,” which means, “O Allah, save me from your punishment on the Day when You resurrect Your servants.”

Upon waking up, he would say, “اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَحْيَا وَأَمُوت,” which means, “O Allah, with Your name, I live and die.” This prophetic practice emphasizes the significance of our sleeping habits and the importance of starting and ending our day with gratitude and mindfulness.
