Ingredients:
To make approximately 6 naans, you will need the following ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup lukewarm water
Butter or ghee for brushing (optional)
Chopped cilantro or garlic for garnish (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Add the plain yogurt and oil to the dry ingredients. Mix well.
Gradually add the lukewarm water, a little at a time, while kneading the dough.
Continue kneading until you have a soft and pliable dough. If the dough feels sticky, you can add a little more flour.

Let the Dough Rise:

Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours. The dough should roughly double in size.
Divide and Shape the Naan:

After the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles.
Divide the dough into six equal-sized portions and shape them into balls.
On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into an oval or round shape, approximately 1/4 inch thick. If the dough sticks, dust it with a little flour.

Cook the Naan on the Stovetop:

Heat a non-stick skillet or a griddle over medium-high heat.
Once the skillet is hot, place one naan onto the skillet and cook for about a minute or until bubbles start to form on the surface.
Flip the naan and cook the other side for another minute or until light golden brown spots appear.
Repeat the process for the remaining naans, cooking one at a time.
You can lightly press the naan with a spatula while cooking to ensure even cooking and to make it puff up.

Garnish and Serve:

If desired, brush the cooked naans with melted butter or ghee for added flavor and softness.
Sprinkle chopped cilantro or garlic on top for a tasty garnish.
Serve the naans warm with your favorite curries, kebabs, or any other dish that complements this delightful bread.
