There is a statement from a Saudi merchant that my friend and I used to trade in Burida, the city of Saud. One day I went to Masjid-ul-Kabeer in Burida for Friday prayer, after the Friday prayer the funeral was announced, the funeral prayer was performed and people started asking each other whose funeral it was. It belongs to my friend Jahangir who died of a heart attack last night.

I was very shocked to hear that this was in 1998, that is, 22 years ago, at that time mobile phones had not yet become common. So you go with me, let’s go and talk to his sons and I already knew that this debt was the responsibility of Saud.

So we went and met with the sons of the deceased and they flatly refused to return the money without any solid evidence. And said that our father has left only 6 lakh riyals, if we give you 3 lakh, then what will we have left? I was haunted by the memory of Saud and I kept thinking that I don’t know what will happen to him in the grave because of not paying the debt.” One day I decided to pay off the debt of my dear friend. I did not sleep till the day, whenever I closed my eyes to sleep, Saud’s smiling face would appear in front of me, as if he was waiting for my help. And after collecting other deposits, I collected 4 lakh fifty thousand riyals, so I immediately paid off my friend’s loan with 3 lakh riyals.

2 weeks after this payment, the same person to whom I had paid 3 lakhs came to me and said that I have come to know that you have sold everything and made this payment.

So I give up 1 lakh riyals, saying that he returned 1 lakh riyals to me and mentioned this incident to other traders in the market that the sincere friend has set an example of perfection. A businessman called and offered that I have a store consisting of two shops that I want to give you free of charge. I accepted his offer. The truck stopped in front of the shops from which a young man got down and after salutation said that I am the son of such and such a businessman.

My father has sent these goods and said that after selling the goods, half of the price should be returned to us and the remaining half of the goods is a gift from us and in the future we have borrowed as much goods as we need and sold them. Do people I didn’t know.

All around stood up to cooperate with me and in a short time my business doubled from before. In short, in Ramadan 1436 AH, I have paid 3 million riyals as Zakat on my wealth!! This is not a myth but a real incident.
