Hakeem Sahib, a wise and kind-hearted man, had unwavering faith in Allah and dedicatedly worshiped Him. Every day, before heading to work at his hospital housed in an old building, Hakeem would ask his wife to write down the necessary items on a slip of paper. Upon reaching the hospital, he would review the list, noting the prices and total. Then, with complete trust in Allah’s power, Hakeem would raise his hands in prayer, beseeching Allah to provide the required amount of money for the day.
Remarkably, time and again, the exact amount written on the slip would be miraculously fulfilled, affirming that Allah never rejects the prayers of His righteous servants.
However, one day brought an unexpected turn of events. As Hakeem opened the slip at his hospital, he came across the last item on the list: his daughter’s dowry. Overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility, Hakeem took a deep breath and inscribed beside it that this was the work of Allah, for only Allah truly knows. Placing the slip back in his pocket, Hakeem resumed his day. Shortly thereafter, a car pulled up outside Hakeem Sahib’s shop, but he initially paid it little attention, as such visits were not uncommon. However, when a distinguished 40-year-old man named Amjad entered the shop, Hakeem’s curiosity was piqued.
Amjad reminded Hakeem Sahib of their encounter fourteen years prior when his car had broken down in the rain. Hakeem had shown kindness, providing Amjad with medicine and refusing payment. Amjad shared his subsequent struggles with infertility and his eventual blessings of becoming a father to three children. However, tragedy struck when his niece, whose wedding expenses Amjad had borne, fell critically ill and passed away. Overwhelmed by gratitude and having noticed Hakeem’s daughter during his visit, Amjad and his wife now sought to offer their niece’s dowry to Hakeem’s daughter. Astounded, Hakeem presented the slip to Amjad, who was pleasantly surprised to find the words “This is Allah’s work. Allah knows.” written next to the dowry item. This heartwarming incident reinforced the lesson that in all circumstances, placing complete trust in Allah and supplicating sincerely fosters a profound connection with Him, resulting in abundant blessings and provision beyond expectations.
