Tale of Divine Intervention and Mercy
Once upon a time, a group of people witnessed a young man performing Tawaf around the Kaaba, deeply engrossed in reciting Durood Sharif. Intrigued by his devotion, they inquired about his story. He shared that he had embarked on a journey with his father for the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj, but unfortunately, his father’s health deteriorated during the trip, leading to his untimely demise. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Surely, we belong to Allah, and to Him, we shall return).

The young man described his father’s sudden physical changes—his once fair complexion turned dark, his eyes yellowed, and his stomach bloated. This heart-wrenching incident left the onlookers in tears, and the narrator deeply troubled by the harsh realities of life, the unknown paths of strangers, and the challenges of travel.
That night, as the narrator slept, an extraordinary dream unfolded. In the dream, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) appeared, donned in radiant white attire, emitting a captivating fragrance. The blessed Prophet touched the narrator’s father’s face, and miraculously, his complexion became whiter than milk, eyes regained their brilliance, and his stomach normalized.
Overwhelmed by the divine encounter, the narrator awoke to a profound sense of peace. In the dream, the Prophet identified himself, “I am Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. Your disobedient father sought my intercession through fervent recitation of Durood Sharif. When he faced adversity, he implored for my help, and I responded to his plea. I am the source of mercy for all who abundantly send blessings upon me.”
The narrator, still holding the fragrance of the dream in their heart, approached the deceased father’s body. As they recited Durood Sharif with deep sincerity, the same transformation occurred—the face turned whiter, the eyes brighter, and the stomach returned to its natural state. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had indeed responded to the plea for intercession.
Upon waking, the narrator felt compelled to express gratitude. Holding the blessed cloak, they addressed the Prophet, “O Leader and Illuminator! I extend my gratitude to the one who sent you, the compassionate being who sent you to alleviate our poverty and destitution.”
To this, the Prophet replied, “You did not recognize me? I am Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. Though your father was disobedient, he consistently recited Durood Sharif. In his moment of crisis, he sought my help through your prayers. I respond to the supplications of those who abundantly send blessings upon me. I am the comforter for all who beseech my intercession.”
This miraculous encounter exemplifies the profound impact of sincere prayers, the boundless mercy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the transformative power of invoking blessings upon him. It serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, seeking the intercession of the Prophet and engaging in acts of devotion can bring about divine intervention and mercy.
