We are very interesting people, our habits are quite unique, and all of this is quite common in our region.

  1. When ordering from a barbecue place, we always insist on extra chutney and also ask for onions.
  2. In the folds of our sofas, you’ll find plenty of paper, receipts, and torn wrappers. Even our pockets are a treasure trove of small, essential items.
  3. We always look for a lost belt even after using the restroom. We remember the towel only after taking a shower, and if the shampoo runs out, we manage to squeeze out the last drops from the bottle.
  4. We sit on the bed, wrapping ourselves in someone else’s ironed shirt.
  5. We sniff our food when it arrives from the neighbor’s house.
  6. In a power outage, whether it’s a gas leak or not, we check it by putting our tongue on the gas cylinder.
  7. We refuel the motorcycle only when the fuel is about to run out.
  8. We don’t change the channel until the TV remote’s batteries completely die.
  9. If the car breaks down on the road, we open the hood and hit it here and there.
  10. Even if someone has never had eye surgery or is not a heart patient, we advise them on high-level medical procedures.
  11. In a gathering, if someone narrates an incident, we vividly recall a similar incident that happened to us.
  12. When women pass by, we turn our heads to get a good look and then pretend we didn’t notice.
  13. While waiting somewhere, we constantly check our mobile as if expecting a call or message, and we don’t even realize when it happens silently.
  14. When witnessing a road accident, we ask, “What happened?” and, with a shrug, say, “Don’t know.”
  15. We intentionally let biscuits soak in our tea. In the end, we make a whole effort to wrap the remaining sugar with our fingers.
  16. While having breakfast, we throw memorable soup on clothes.
  17. When someone passes away, we express, “I just met them yesterday, had lunch in the morning.” The soul departs a second before the person closes their eyes.
  18. We chase away cats by saying “hish” instead of “meow.”
  19. During prayers, if our mother tries to stop us from a chore by hitting her thigh, we stop, otherwise, we don’t stop until the dog insults us.
  20. We always announce to our neighbors that someone has come knocking at our door.
  21. If a light is on during the day, and it remains on for a long time, whether someone is inside or not, we check the nearby houses.
  22. We believe the solution to mobile and computer malfunctions is to restart.
